Announcing the Winners: Indie Lit Awards

Have you seen?  The winners have been announced!  The Indie Lit Awards have had another exciting year, thanks to the participation of readers and bloggers like you!  I've had a marvelous time being involved in the whole process and am looking forward to another year.

The winning book in the Fiction category is:

Silver Sparrow by Tayari Jones

followed by the runner-up:
Dance Lessons by Aine Greaney

Stayed tuned to hear my thoughts on these books (as well as the rest of the short list).  In the meantime, check out the wonderful blogs of the others on the Fiction team...they did a wonderful job reading and discussing these books.

  1. Yay! I'm so happy for Tayari Jones and her book. And a little envious of you and your position as judge, too. I look forward to reading your review of this one soon.

  3. Emily, it's a fun experience. Maybe some spots will open up [or be added] and you and Belle and I can all judge together. (I'm a big fan of positive thinking!)

Belle, I think you'll like it! It's one of those that sucks you in and won't let go. :)

  4. Yes - I want to judge. What better way to put all that expensive English Literature education to use? I don't think it's going to pay for itself in my everyday work world. I'm just saying. I'll have to go put my name in the hat for next year. I'll be graduated and back to full steam by then.
