Hop to the Beat

Do you listen to music when you read?  That's the topic of the week for the Book Hop at Crazy for Books.  Most often I don't--I like the silence so I can immerse myself in the world I'm reading about.  Sometimes, however, if my husband is on a business call, or the kids are especially rambunctious, I might counteract the disruption with music of my own.

So, when music is called for, there is a wide range of music that fits the bill--depending on my mood. Leave me a comment so I can return your visit, and have a great weekend!

  1. Ah, I love The Weepies! I answered a question on Formspring the other day that went something like: "which song would you listen to if you could only listen to one song for an entire month?" and I chose "All This Beauty" by The Weepies. Such a great band - beautiful music and an awesome vibe.

Roof Beam Reader--I agree! The Weepies are great: relaxing and energizing all at the same time.

Julie--thanks for coming by. Mere Christianity made me want to read more of C.S. Lewis' nonfiction. Didn't know what I was missing out on!

Amy--so nice to meet you, hope to see you around. :)

Chelle--there's something about the energy and passion in the music that sucks me in, although I do have to be in the right mood.

  11. Hi Melody,

I'm stopping over from the blog hop... I know I'm crazy late (the new one starts up tomorrow already!). I was glancing through the old list at Crazy-For-Books today, saw your blog title, and had to check it out. I'm glad I did! You have a great site... and as a side note, I loved Once's soundtrack, too!

    Have a good day,
    Ms. C
