It sounds like I have to move it up!

And it sounds like I just added a title to my list: I did enjoy The Thirteenth Tale (love an unreliable narrator) so I'm going to search out The Sisters Mortland. Thanks for the recommendation.Debbie Rodgershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15630059470408161434noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-243923798905252664.post-10395273386921375702014-07-28T14:32:11.902-07:002014-07-28T14:32:11.902-07:00I'm a Jane Austen purist, too. I'm sure Longbourn is very well written but nobody can write like Jane Austen!Vintage Readinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05971819409379613967noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-243923798905252664.post-80441006059643614592014-07-13T15:47:41.176-07:002014-07-13T15:47:41.176-07:00I actually liked Flora quite a bit until the endin...I actually liked Flora quite a bit until the ending. As the book neared the end I felt like the author was trying to wrap up a bunch of stuff instead of letting it develop more naturally. As for Longbourn, well, I wish I had liked it! I liked Austenland, but then that was a modern day spin, so I didn't have the historical-accuracy-cop part of me working in full force. I wish I could turn that part of my brain off sometimes so that I could get more enjoyment out of books like that!Melodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08151339860580266808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-243923798905252664.post-26359010322227906842014-07-13T15:44:10.986-07:002014-07-13T15:44:10.986-07:00I have a copy from Powell's Indiespensable, an...I have a copy from Powell's Indiespensable, and I think my mother-in-law said she heard about it somehow...maybe Barnes & Noble? I don't know. It looks interesting, but I'm a little scared because the author mentioned his favorite authors, and they aren't mine. But that doesn't always mean his writing will affect me the same. We'll have to see!Melodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08151339860580266808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-243923798905252664.post-29936076877098375952014-07-11T07:08:21.118-07:002014-07-11T07:08:21.118-07:00Glad you got a lot of reading done in June. In fact, I was surprised just how much I DID like Longbourn. I haven't read a lot of buzz in the blogworld, so I'm wondering where everyone is hearing about it? Heidi’sbookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15647096496574605262noreply@blogger.com
