Paradise Lost seems like it would take extra focus in the best of times! Most of my reads this month were easy in their own way (and I was almost finished with The Goldfinch, and well into Main Street). I hope you are able to find some down time soon - it sounds like you're going many different directions at once!Melodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08151339860580266808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-243923798905252664.post-23060457270753150552015-02-08T17:31:09.138-08:002015-02-08T17:31:09.138-08:00Maybe it's just part of my denial/procrastinat...Maybe it's just part of my denial/procrastination/avoidance technique, but either way it was a fun reading month. Maybe I'll give it a go at some point just fun.Melodyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08151339860580266808noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-243923798905252664.post-43847683997398982462015-02-07T15:53:44.551-08:002015-02-07T15:53:44.551-08:00I only read 1 book in January. It was interesting, but just difficult to read. I'm too busy and stressed with school, competitions, retreat-planning, etc to read a book that takes so much concentration. You've put Sinclair on my radar. I'm beyond impressed. I feel like I wasn't too shocked at Lies My Teacher Told Me either as I was a nosy child and didn't believe my teachers most of the time! Good Luck with the rest of the renovations.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-243923798905252664.post-72460294380643410142015-02-04T08:37:29.178-08:002015-02-04T08:37:29.178-08:00LOoks like you had a STELLAR January. ...LOoks like you had a STELLAR January. Well done!

You know, when I read Bernadette, I liked it quite a bit but had similar feelings that you have. Then about 18 months later, I listened to the audio and it was almost like a completely different experience. The reader put so much more emotion into it than I was picking up just reading the text, that I actually found the book quite moving at times.
